The Extreme Networks 220-48t-10GE4 managed switch features a core configuration of "high-density gigabit access+10 gigabit uplink", equipped with 48 10/100/1000Base-T electrical ports and 4 10GE SFP+optical ports, which can meet the needs of a large number of terminal access and achieve high-speed interconnection with the core network, suitable for small and medium-sized campus networks and enterprise headquarters access layer scenarios.

48 gigabit electrical ports support full duplex mode and automatic rate negotiation, allowing flexible docking with terminal devices such as computers, IP phones, wireless APs, IP cameras, etc. No manual speed adjustment is required, and quick deployment can be achieved by plugging in, reducing on-site configuration complexity.

Four 10GE SFP+optical ports support 10 Gigabit line speed forwarding and can be connected over long distances (such as 550 meters for multimode or over 10 kilometers for multimode) through single-mode/multimode fiber, easily connecting to core switches or server clusters and solving the bottleneck problem of gigabit upstream bandwidth.

Equipped with a non blocking hardware forwarding architecture, the backplane bandwidth and packet forwarding rate can support simultaneous line speed transmission of 48 Gigabit ports and 4 10G ports, without the risk of traffic congestion, ensuring the smoothness of video surveillance, file transfer, cloud application access and other businesses.

As a hosted switch, it supports rich three-layer network functions. In addition to basic VLAN, LACP, STP/RSTP, it is also compatible with routing protocols such as static routing, RIP, OSPFv2, etc. It can achieve routing forwarding between different network segments and meet the three-layer networking needs of small and medium-sized networks.

Capable of fine-grained QoS control, it can prioritize traffic based on ports, IP addresses, and application types, such as allocating high priority bandwidth for video conferencing and ERP systems, limiting bandwidth usage for regular downloads and online videos, and ensuring stable operation of critical businesses.

The management approach balances flexibility and efficiency, supporting local web graphical interfaces (visual operations, suitable for beginners), CLI command lines (precise configuration, suitable for experienced operations and maintenance), and compatible with the ExtremeCloud IQ cloud platform. It can achieve centralized monitoring of multiple devices, batch firmware upgrades, and fault alarms, reducing the overall network operation and maintenance costs.

The security protection system is complete, supporting 802.1X identity authentication, MAC address binding, port security (limiting the number of devices accessing a single port), and can also resist DoS attacks and ARP spoofing. Illegal traffic is filtered through access control lists (ACLs) to ensure network boundary security.
