5520 Series Exclusive Adaptation: Extreme Networks 5520-VIM, as a dedicated expansion module for the 5520 series core switch, precisely matches the modular slot design of the switch and can be seamlessly installed on models such as 5520-48P and 5520-48X, providing a flexible interface upgrade path for fixed port switches and expanding functional boundaries without the need to replace the entire machine.

Hot swappable modular design: adopting a tool free hot swappable structure, operation and maintenance personnel can complete module installation, replacement, and maintenance without shutting down the switch. Combined with the redundant power supply and heat dissipation design of the switch, it achieves "zero interruption" expansion operation, ensuring the continuous operation of key businesses such as finance and government affairs.

Multi rate optical port expansion: It is speculated to be equipped with 4-8 10G/25G SFP28 or 40G QSFP+optical ports, compatible with 1000BASE-X, 10GBASE-SR/LR, 25GBASE-SR and other multi specification optical modules.
