1、 Port configuration and expansion flexibility

1000BASE-X optical port core configuration: Extreme Networks 1000BASE-X port switches (such as the Summit X430 series) are typically equipped with 2-4 100/1000BASE-X SFP ports, which can be flexibly paired with SFP optical modules. At the same time, combined with 10/100/1000BASE-T electrical ports, they form a "light+electricity" hybrid port architecture, suitable for the dual needs of copper cable access and fiber optic expansion.

Multi specification optical module compatibility: Supports mainstream optical modules such as 1000BASE-SX (multimode fiber, up to 550m) and 1000BASE-LX (single-mode fiber, up to 10km), and can choose the appropriate solution according to the transmission distance, easily achieving long-distance gigabit interconnection between buildings and within parks.

Link aggregation bandwidth extension: allows multiple 1000BASE-X ports to be bound as aggregation links, with a maximum of 8 member ports supported by a single aggregation group. The total bandwidth can be linearly increased to 8Gbps, and traffic allocation is optimized through load balancing technology to ensure stable and reliable critical links.

2、 Core performance and transmission efficiency

Full port line speed forwarding guarantee: Taking the Summit X430-48t as an example, the switch has a switching capacity of 104Gbps and a forwarding rate of 77Mpps, which can achieve line speed processing for all 1000BASE-X optical ports and gigabit electrical ports. The forwarding delay of 64 byte frames is less than 5 μ s, and non blocking transmission meets low latency requirements such as high-definition video and VoIP.

Mega frame transmission support: It can support up to 9KB mega frames, reducing the fragmentation and reassembly overhead during the transmission of large data packets, significantly improving the transmission efficiency of server backup, storage access and other scenarios, and adapting to the core business needs of data centers and enterprises.

Layer 2 and 3 fusion processing capability: Built in complete layer 2 features (VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, etc.), some models (such as X450-G2 series) support IPv4/IPv6 static routing and dynamic routing protocols, which can serve as a connection device between the edge layer and the aggregation layer, achieving multi-layer network segmentation and interconnection.
