Extreme Networks X870-96X-8C is a high-performance power module designed specifically for the X870 series of full-featured switches. Its core positioning is "high-density high-speed equipment exclusive power supply guarantee", and it is compatible with high-end multi port models such as X870-96X, meeting the high-power power supply needs of data center core layer equipment.
Equipped with ultra high power output capability, it is estimated that the rated power of a single module can reach over 1600W, which can easily support the power consumption of 96 25GbE ports operating at full load. At the same time, it provides stable power supply for components such as the switch control board and expansion module, avoiding power shortage under high load.
Adopting a wide AC input design, supporting a wide voltage range of 100-240VAC, compatible with global power grid standards in different regions, and able to adapt to voltage fluctuation scenarios in computer rooms. The input frequency is adapted to 50/60Hz, enhancing the flexibility of cross regional deployment.
Deeply adapted to the hardware architecture of X870 series switches, certified by original factory compliance, the device can automatically complete communication protocol matching after insertion, and can be recognized by the power management system without manual debugging, ensuring the compatibility and stability of the power supply chain.
N+1 redundant power supply mode is supported. When multiple modules are connected in parallel, the load can be distributed intelligently. When a module fails, the rest of the modules can take over the power supply task instantaneously. The switching time is less than 5ms, so as to ensure that the switch and the services it carries are not interrupted, and adapt to the zero downtime scenario of key services.
Integrated intelligent power management function, which can monitor output power, input voltage, module temperature and other parameters in real time through the ExtremeCloud IQ platform. It supports power threshold alarm and dynamic load adjustment, helping operation and maintenance personnel avoid power supply risks in advance.
The hardware protection system is comprehensive, with overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, overheating, and surge protection functions. When power abnormalities occur, the output can be quickly cut off and an alarm can be triggered to prevent damage to the switch host and other core components, reducing the risk of equipment damage.
Adopting a hot swappable design, it supports module installation and replacement without shutting down the switch. Combined with a redundant deployment plan, it can achieve online maintenance of the power system, greatly reducing the impact of operation and maintenance operations on network operation.
The heat dissipation design is suitable for high load scenarios, equipped with low-noise intelligent speed regulating fans. The fan speed can be automatically adjusted according to the module temperature, which not only ensures the heat dissipation efficiency during high-power operation, but also reduces noise and energy consumption in idle state.
Using industrial grade durable components, after 7 × 24-hour high load aging testing, the MTBF (mean time between failures) reaches over 100000 hours, which can adapt to the harsh continuous operation environment of data centers and provide long-term reliable power support for high-end switches.
