Extreme Networks XGM3SB-4SF is an expansion module designed specifically for the Extreme series modular switches. Its core function is to add 10GbE port resources to meet the demand for high-speed interfaces during network expansion.

From the model "4SF" identification, it can be determined that the module is equipped with 4 10GBASE-X SFP+optical ports, supports 10GbE line speed forwarding, and can achieve high-speed data transmission over long distances (such as single-mode fiber kilometers) through fiber optic links.

The "SF" in the module name clearly points to the SFP+interface feature, which supports hot swapping of SFP+optical modules. Users can flexibly replace single-mode, multi-mode or optical modules with different transmission distances according to the actual link requirements, with stronger adaptability.

As an original compliance component of Extreme, XGM3SB-4SF is deeply compatible with the ExtremeXOS operating system. It can be automatically recognized when plugged into a compatible switch host, eliminating the need for complex manual configuration and enabling port functionality quickly.
