The Extreme Networks 10GBASE-X Ethernet switch has high-density ports as its core advantage, and models like the Summit X770 can provide 104 line speed 10GbE ports in a 1RU body, achieving industry-leading port density.

The interface configuration is flexible and diverse. In addition to 10GBASE-X SFP+ports, some models also integrate 40GbE QSFP+ports, which can meet the requirements of terminal access and achieve high-speed interconnection between switches and HPC server connections.

Adopting advanced TRILL layer 2 multi-path technology, supporting multi hop routing, it can achieve zero loss operation and high resilience network architecture, avoiding the impact of single point failures on overall services.

Featuring ultra-low transmission delay characteristics, the single machine delay can be as low as 600 nanoseconds or less. When linked with BlackDiamond X8 core switches, the end-to-end delay does not exceed 3.5 microseconds, making it suitable for scenarios with high real-time requirements.

Deeply compatible with Software Defined Networking (SDN), supports OpenFlow and OpenStack protocols, can interface with third-party SDN applications such as Big Switch, and achieve network virtualization and traffic visualization management.

Supporting overlay tunneling technologies such as VXLAN and NVGRE, it can break through traditional VLAN limitations and provide flexible network expansion capabilities for highly virtualized data centers, adapting to multi tenant scenarios.
