Product Details Introduction

KUKA KRC2/VKRC2 is the core mechanical controller module (motion control and safety center) of KUKA's second-generation robot control system. VKRC2 is a customized version for Volkswagen, with hardware highly compatible with standard KRC2. It is mainly used for KR series 6-axis industrial robots, responsible for motion planning, servo closed-loop, safety logic, and bus communication.

Adopting a distributed modular architecture, equipped with industrial grade PC motherboards and real-time processors.

Run the KUKA KSS real-time operating system with a typical servo control cycle of 4ms.

Core board: MFC2 motion control board, responsible for trajectory interpolation and axis coordination control.

Safety board: DSE-IBS, ISX, etc., handling safety signals such as emergency stop, safety door, safety speed limit, etc.

Communication interface: Integrated with Interbus, PROFIBUS-DP, Ethernet, supporting networking with PLC.

Connect KSD series servo drives to control 6-axis body and up to 2 external axes.

Encoder feedback processing: Supports high-precision feedback such as Resolvers and EnDat.

Power module: KPS-27 (24V/27V) provides power for the control system and I/O.

I/O Expansion: Supports digital/analog I/O modules and secure I/O modules.

Compatible with mainstream models such as KR 16, KR 60, KR 100, KR 125, KR 150, KR 210, etc.

Support KRL robot language programming, operated through KCP teaching pendant.

Equipped with fault diagnosis, status monitoring, logging, and remote maintenance functions.

Industrial grade design, anti-interference, anti vibration, suitable for harsh environments such as automotive production lines.

It has been discontinued, and the market mainly focuses on original disassembly, testing of good products, and repair parts.

Application: Automated scenarios such as automotive welding, handling, assembly, spraying, cutting, and palletizing.

This module is the "brain" of the robot, and faults often manifest as inability to start, axis immobility, safety alarms, communication interruptions, and abnormal trajectories. It is a core component for repairing old equipment and replacing spare parts.
